Which flooring material is best?

There is no single answer for every room. Begin with use, exposure, cleaning and the existing floor. Then compare exact products within the material shortlist. See our selection framework.

Does a thicker floor always last longer?

Overall thickness and wear-layer thickness describe different parts of a product. Compare construction, declared use and relevant performance evidence together. Read wear layer vs overall thickness.

Can I install new flooring over tiles?

An overlay needs an assessment of the existing surface, product instructions, moisture, flatness and transition details. Also check the renovation requirements for the actual property and work. Begin with the HDB/BTO planning guide if relevant.

Does waterproof flooring solve a damp subfloor?

A surface-water claim does not diagnose or remove moisture below the covering. Ask how the substrate will be assessed and how a moisture source will be addressed. See subfloor moisture checks.

Do all click-lock floors need an extra underlay?

Check the complete approved system. Some products have attached backing; others require a specified separate underlay. Do not add a second layer without written support. Read the underlay guide.

What should a flooring quotation include?

The exact product, measured scope, preparation, fixing system, accessories, labour and exclusions should be clear. Confirm removal, disposal, taxes and variation arrangements. Use the quotation checklist.

Is SGFloorHub a flooring contractor?

SGFloorHub publishes flooring knowledge, comparisons and directory guidance. Contact a chosen supplier or installer directly for a site assessment and quotation. Our directory page explains business roles and its current listing status.

How do I report an error or suggest a company?
