Flexible Wall Panels in Singapore
Plan curved surfaces around the actual flexible product. Identify the construction, bending direction, approved curvature, substrate and finishing details before ordering.
Flexible is a capability, not one material
Flexible panels and profiles are offered in different constructions. Identify the manufacturer, product code, backing and finish before comparing how they bend. Orac lists flexible versions within its architectural wallcovering range; that is an example of a named product option, not proof that every decorative panel can be curved.
Keep flexibility separate from fluted appearance, acoustic performance and intended exposure. A similar-looking rigid panel should not be substituted without reviewing the specification.
Record the curve the product must follow
Draw the wall or column with its radius, height, returns and any change in curvature. Ask which bending direction and minimum curvature the exact product permits, and whether convex and concave use differ. Do not apply a radius taken from another manufacturer’s profile.
Request a physical mock-up on a representative support where practical. Review the face, joint opening and finish under the lighting that will reach the curve.
The support surface is part of the finish
Ask how the installer will establish a sound, correctly shaped substrate and which fixing method supports the product and curvature. Adhesive, mechanical restraints, joints and any finishing coat should form one documented proposal.
A flexible decorative layer does not rebuild a damaged or poorly formed wall. Clarify preparation, drying conditions, service access and separate support for fixtures before covering the area.
Resolve seams and ends on the elevation
Map where the curved run meets straight surfaces, skirting, doors and ceilings. Check exposed ends, trimmed grooves and the treatment of internal or external corners.
Agree how joints will be aligned and finished. If the product is paintable or finished after fixing, approve a sample showing the complete preparation and finish rather than only the untreated profile.
Compare the completed curved surface
Keep the curve geometry and elevation the same for each quotation. Identify material, cutting allowance, substrate preparation, adhesives, joints, finishing and labour. Ask how a damaged section would be accessed and matched.
Retain the approved mock-up, product instructions and written terms. Confirm local supply and application support separately from an international manufacturer example.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Can every fluted panel wrap around a column?
No. Fluted describes the profile. The actual product must support the required curvature, bending direction and installation method.
Is there one minimum bending radius for flexible panels?
No. Obtain the limit for the specific product and direction of bending. Confirm that the actual wall or column geometry meets it.
Can a flexible panel correct an uneven curved wall?
Do not assume that it can. Ask for a prepared support surface and a mock-up of the complete installed finish.
