Understand the composite description
WPC means wood-plastic composite. The label identifies a broad material approach; it does not tell you the exact formulation, decorative finish, density or construction of a particular wall panel. Request the manufacturer’s datasheet rather than relying on a showroom label.
Cladco describes its own composite cladding products using wood and plastic constituents. Its exterior cladding documentation is a material example, not a specification for every interior WPC panel sold in Singapore.
Keep interior and exterior specifications separate
Ask whether the selected product is intended for interior feature walls, covered areas or exterior exposure. Do not move a test result or installation detail between those uses without manufacturer confirmation. Indoor decorative panels and façade systems answer different project requirements.
If a vendor describes a panel as waterproof, fireproof or acoustic, ask for the scope and evidence for the exact product. A WPC label alone cannot establish those claims. Record any unresolved questions before placing an order.
Evaluate the face and the core
A wood-look surface can differ from the material beneath it. Ask whether the facing is wrapped, coated or otherwise applied, and how cut ends are finished. View a full panel and a cross-section beside the colour sample.
For fluted designs, consider groove spacing, shadow and the cleaning access between ribs. Check how the panel ends at corners and furniture. Agree which matching trims are supplied rather than assuming they are included.
Confirm support and movement details
Request the product-specific method for fixing to the actual wall. Ask about the substrate, supporting members if required, joints and movement provisions. Generic advice for another manufacturer’s board should not replace the selected system’s instructions.
Plan service access and support for wall-mounted objects separately. Clarify the responsibility for electrical changes, substrate repair and damaged panels. An itemised installation proposal makes these issues visible before the wall is covered.
Build the shortlist from evidence
- Product and manufacturer identification.
- Core, facing, profile and accessory specifications.
- Intended indoor/outdoor application and limitations.
- Performance evidence for the specified assembly.
- Care, repair and warranty information.
- Installed scope including preparation, waste and finishing.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Does WPC tell me the complete panel specification?
No. Obtain the formulation or construction information, facing, profile and intended use for the actual product.
Can I use exterior WPC documentation for an interior panel?
Do not transfer a different product’s test result or installation detail. Identify the actual indoor system and the evidence relevant to the project.
Is WPC automatically fireproof or acoustic?
A material family name does not establish those claims. Request the report and assembly details for the exact product and application.
